Last Thursday night, we marked a truly special occasion – the 50th anniversary of Falconer Advisers.

Reflecting on this milestone, two words continue to resonate: Thank you.

Thank you to our incredible team – past and present. The dedication of people like Rebecca, Nancy, and Oscar, and those who have contributed before them such as Pat, is the reason we can deliver advice that changes lives.

Thank you to our families. Falconer has always been a family business, and that hasn’t changed. From Kristian and Pat’s legacy to the involvement of the broader Falconer, Phillips, and Fleming families, their support has been unwavering – even when we’ve had to miss a few dinners or family events along the way.

To our business partners – the accountants, lawyers, fund managers, researchers, brokers, bookkeepers, platform providers (including our longstanding relationship with Macquarie), SMSF Admin and our licensee Hillross – we’re grateful for the crucial role you play. Your expertise and support enable our small team of six to deliver outstanding outcomes for our clients.

And of course – our clients. You are the reason we exist.

We are proud to help you live the lives you want to live. That’s our ‘why’. The technical work, the strategies, the structures – they’re all just the ‘how’.

Over the past five decades, we’ve guided clients through recessions, market crashes, pandemics, inflationary shocks, and policy upheavals. Through it all, you’ve trusted us to stand by your side.

Some of you have been on this journey with us since the beginning. Others have joined more recently. Either way, we are immensely grateful you choose Falconer Advisers.

Finally, we paused last night to recognise someone who has been central to all of this – Robert Falconer. For 48 of our 50 years, Robert has been the vision, the energy, and the wisdom behind what we do. He’s championed education, believed in people, and shaped us all – sometimes with encouragement, sometimes with a well-placed nudge!

Although we didn’t get the proper retirement celebration he deserved at the time, it was a privilege to acknowledge his legacy last night.

Here’s to Robert. And here’s to the next 50 years of helping Australians build, protect and enjoy their wealth.
